Oven Cleaning: Anyone recommend?

Hi. Despite my best efforts, my oven needs a really good, deep clean and I know there are professional outfits that do this. Has anyone ever used one of these companies? If so, can they please recommend?

Thanks

Yes, I have. My oven came with the flat, nearly twenty years ago. I'm a pretty clean and tidy cook, but...I called in Oven Sheen - 020 8670 4946, left them to it and returned to a new oven. I was astonished at what can be done. They also cleaned the hob (properly) and will clean hoods, put in new seals, bulbs, etc if necessary. Eighteen months ago this fabulous transformation cost £72. Worth double!

Great. Thanks so much!

I used Oven Sheen today and they were great. Very prompt and efficient, cleaned the two ovens and replaced a bulb so all is looking like new. The guy also showed me how to take my oven doors off to clean out food which gets trapped. And I liked the honesty - ie didn't really think I needed to get them to clean my hob which saved me money. Thanks for the recommendation.

Good to see 2 such glowing recommendations! Have booked them for later this week.

Another great tip, if you ever do feel like cleaning the oven yourself that is. Use Oven Pride it only costs £3.99 from Sainsbury's and comes with a bag and gloves and is just so easy and no scrubbing needed. Much cheaper than a professional for those that don't have a lot of funds :-)

Top marks to Oven Sheen. Great service, prompt and efficient and I now have 2 ovens and an extractor fan which look like new! Thanks for your post, Mary W. I know I should do myself, but somehow the convenience of Oven Sheen appealed!

I have also booked them based on the above.............can't wait to have a gleaming new looking oven and extractor fan! It's one job I hate doing!

wow! your enthusiasm has made me think about ringing these guys - i know my oven LOOKS clean but i have a nasty feeling that it isn't really....... thanx for the recommendation Constantine......

Thanks for the recommendation. I booked them a couple of weeks ago and I'm really pleased with the outcome! Great service when you don't want to have to breathe in nasty chemicals to do the job yourself or expose children/babies to them. They also changed a light bulb for me.

After reading all the comments about Oven Sheen, I too booked them and wow my ovens and extractor hood are amazing, they are like new! They were quick, clean, polite, very helpful and very reasonable, a great service. I would use them again and have no problem recommending them to anyone who is thinking of using them! Thanks Constantine.

Another vote for Oven Sheen! they came yesterday (they rang beforehand to say that they were going to be EARLY!!) and did a fab job on my oven, extractor and microwave..... Like Lulu they replaced the light in the oven and claire is right - they were clean, polite and gave a great service....... And in case any of you were wondering, no they didn't give me a fiver for saying all this!!

Just to add to all the other great comments, I booked Oven Sheen to clean my cooker, and Martin turned up to do the job. Was on time, very polite and did an excellent job of cleaning my extractor, hob and oven. My cooker looks brand new. I would definitely recommend Oven Sheen to anyone.

Would be useful to know what current costs are for this and for any other services that mentioned in the posts on the site.

I looked up their site -www.ovensheen.com, and there is a prices page: http://ovensheen.com/prices.html

Well, after all these reports, I'll give Oven Sheen a go, too. Mine is filthy and can't bring myself to do it myself :)

Thanks to those who have pointed me to the webpage giving costs.

I just feel that it's good to get information and knowing the costs will complete the picture to take decisions. Streetlife is growing by leaps and bounds, it's great to see that community spirit flapped perhaps due to lack of meeting space whether real or virtual. This is one of the more positive uses of the internet and most welcome as most will agree. Cheers!
