I am going to a Sikh wedding in 4 weeks, I have been given some material to be made into a Saree can anyone recommend where I can have this done in Tooting ?
Thank you emmsar I know what I need to have done - my sister in law to be has demonstrated on me, I just done know any shops where I can get it made ( pleated and petticoat made ) any recommendations ?
Am I right in thinking you want the saree to be made up like a skirt to step into?
Petticoats must be available on the High St. in the shops selling saris, they also have tailors in Tooting Broadway market who can run up a petticoat for you, simple if you are handy with a sewing machine. If you want to send me a PM with your height, I could perhaps lend you one if I have one that is of the right colour.
Thankyou so much for the kind offer and information, yes I am having it made so I can step into it as a skirt ,and drape material over my shoulder. My sister has the same colour so we are both meeting to get them made,I will make my way to the market and hopefully find a tailor there. It is very exciting, and really beautiful material.
I too am gonig to a Sikh wedding in November and have my length of fabric. I would like to visit you emmsar, at your convenience to help me with ideas. I would do the sewing myself. You know me - so please send private email

Sylvia, I am going to be busy until the last week of March, since there is time, you could come over after that and get you sorted out.
