Motorbike driving licence
I'd like to get a motorbike driving licence but I'm losing my way in trying to figure out what steps I have to go through in terms of forms to apply, exams, provisional licence and so on.
Does anyone know a valid local training company where I can ask for clear info & prices in the Clapham Junction / Wandsworth area (but also Battersea and Clapham are ok), a place where I can do papers, practice & exams?
Many thanks!

I got my CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) in Vauxhall - not far from Clapham. At Metropolis Motorcycles.
If you follow this link, it should tell you everything you need to know.

One day. No issues. They were informative and helpful. I wouldn't recommend getting any maintenance work done in their garage, but their shop is very well stocked and you'd be sure to find what you're looking for.
Best of luck, my friend.
Jake
Just to add I also have done my CBT with Metropolis and can vouch for their instructors, very professional.
They are located right on top of the bus and train station at Vauxhall so very easy to get to and also open 7 days a week.
Good luck in whatever access path you take.
What's this Davide, are you getting too lazy to pedal that fancy push-bike of yours ;-)?
If you want to ride anything bigger than a 50cc you'll need to do a Direct Access Course, which allows you to ride anything. I think it takes between 3-5 days depending on your level of experience. There is also the Restricted Access course which allows you to ride up to - I think - 500cc.
Kirsty is not quite correct. I have now done my CBT twice (retake every 2 years) and ride a 125 cc on L plates. I am quite happy with my L plates. I am no spring chicken and as I have held my driving licence for a far few years when I was using my little 50 cc moped I did not need to display any L plates and was not required to do the CBT.
I was assuming Davide wanted to ride a "proper" motorbike, Tigger !! Having said that, I ride a 125cc scooter at the moment and have done for the past 8 years. I did my motorbike license because I was a snob about L plates, but now I'm looking at a proper, geared motorbike - which is why I know a little about Direct & Restricted Access
Thank you all for your answers.
Thanks to House E (Jake) and Trigger Knows Best for suggesting me Metropolis, tomorrow I'll give it a go.
Thanks to Kristy, and btw you are right: I want to ride a PROPER bike!
And thanks to Peter for mocking me about my wonderful bicycle: that's brilliant for commuting in London but doesn't fit the purpose when I want to take a girl out of town for a weekend. That's why you own a red Honda, right? :)
Hey Davide I absolutely applaud your decision... and a proper bike too! Maybe I can show you some of my favourite twisty roads and scare the **** out of our pillions... I use my Honda for around London but if I want to impress a bird I'll try and borrow my friend's BMW 650i cabriolet. So far, no luck {:-(
