Freelancers group
Hi,
I wondered if anyone was interested in forming a support group for
freelancers. I've been working freelance for 3 years and often
appreciate feedback from colleagues, especially during long periods
spent working from home.
I know there are already business networking groups out there but I was thinking about something very practical. eg: help me with this estimate / proposal please ??!!
Other ideas:
- Writing bids / proposals
- How to deal with Agents
- How to bid against companies
- How to do marketing
- Breaking into new markets (share our experiences)
- General review of work / feedback
- Share Ideas to generate new work
- Collaborate on projects
- Ideas for making remote working succeed
- Where to find new work
I could go on...
Let me know if you are interested, or if you think there is something already out there...
Thanks
Peter

Yes. I did look at her website and agree with you - I thought it would be more 'wow'.
My thoughts are that to work with Tony Robbins she must be great otherwise he wouldn't associate himself with her and also as its free, there's nothing to lose by going except an hour of time and there might be lots to gain in terms of inspiration and opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs.
I'm on a roll with events at the moment....
I just have to say that Artemis was excellent last night and one of the best speakers I have heard. We got 4 hours with her.
I'm going to another event tomorrow which I thought I'd let you know about too in case any of you would be interested in going. It's on Internet Marketing and is running from 1-4 November.
If any of you decide to go, please let me know and we can meet up.
Here's an intro and website link:
"Can you imagine having a business that runs on virtual auto-pilot? Meaning it makes money when you're not even there? That's what thousands of people are now doing on the internet. But there is a wrong way ... and a right way. 11 of the world's best internet marketers are coming to speak at World Internet Summit to show how they do it. There's only a few seats left (and it always sells out). But if you want to be there, visit this webpage right now":

- Teaching: arts & crafts, graphic design & illustration, social media & marketing, photography or just propose something!
- Creative space, networking.
This is a great opportunity to be part of the coolest creative club in SW London - WIP.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Inma.
Just a reminder about the meetup tomorrow at 3pm at the Leather Bottle Garrett lane.
Unfortunately I cant be there due to unexpected childcare / work, so I'm looking for someone to help out by being there at 3pm to help bring people together. Let everyone know if you can make it !

A poor turn-out would be a shame as the Old Sergeant is a rather brilliant little place and the owners are inspirational freelancers themselves.
All the best - Ian
Looks like there are not that many people able to attend the meetup at Leather bottle, Garrett Lane this afternoon:

I think its best to cancel to avoid people turning up and being dissapointed. Streetlife have given us an area to post updates on, so I'll get that ready and post the URL here in a few days. Hopefully it'll make communications a bit more consistent. Meanwhile, watch out for future meetups...
