I always struggle to find places! I think the White Napkin in Brentwood is excellent. They do a lovely afternoon tea and Sunday lunch. The Brickyard in Romford is also good.
Yes, The Brickyard is very nice place and they have good jazz nights. If you like Indian food try the Bekash Tandoori in Victoria Road, Romford, wonderful food.
A little gem of a find is the Cinnamon Spice in Elm Park. They do a banquet for just less than £11 than includes a starter, main, side, rice and nan. Plus you get a coffee at the end. Some great dishes that tempt the palette, definitely worth going off-track for.
Good selection Steve and one or two I haven't tried. Not sure about pie @ mash though, just something I have never fancied eating althoughI know it's a good old east end favourite. What do other people think?
Gotta agree with Steve there on Robin's Pie & Mash, its pretty damned good and competes with the famous London shop Manzies. Bekash is always a winner and very very popular. Sukhothai used to be brilliant, but Ive found its done a little mainstream lately. Plus, I always find Thai quite expensive, small portions and I never know why. It seems the best places to find Thai are some of the pubs that also offer it, notably the White Hart in Whitechapel which is the pub many Jack the Ripper tours end at.Ive got to try the Sri-Lankan restaurant as I loved Sri-Lanka when we were there 12 years ago. I find Wildwood in the centre of Hornchurch quite good for franchised restaurants.
Agree that Thai food can be expensive however "Thai River" in Hornchurch will always be my family's favourite. Also "Passage to India" in Upminster Bridge is definitely worth a visit and have stopped going to the "Bekash" because of it.
I am looking to book a restaurant for a surprise party for my husband with just a few close freinds and family that is really special that is open on a Sunday evening.... can anyone help????
i Paparazzi is good Steve thanks, but he has been there and i wanted to book somewhere special that he hasnt been before! Keith and Joshua it has to look special too..... thanks guys xxx
Our favourite Indian restaurant is Spice of India in Cranham. It's not the cheapest, but the quality never varies from excellent. Whenever we want to celebrate, we go there. Trouble is, it's spoilt us for other Indian restaurants.
Thanks Paul, I love Indian food but some f the other people prefer sosmething like Itallian... So not Indian or Chinese! Any othe cusine though! Thanks very much for your help! xxx
Emmm talking about all this food, can any one recommend a really good fish and chip shop in Romford/Hornchurch , apart from The Brothers and Golden Fish in Dagenham which I have triend and have not been too impressed with of late, looking for a really good one x
