Battersea Social evening drop-in this Wednesday

The next drop-in is the Wednesday (27th) from 7pm to 9.30pm.

However we also have the tour of the BAC building and reception with the Artistic Director and a glass do wine which is between 6.30 and 8.30 and quite a few members are going to this so numbers will be depleted.

If we do not run late some of us may walk over to the Mess for the last hour but we will not know this until the night.

If there are any more members that would like to come on the tour and reception let me know - we have about 15 going so far but can take another 5 if you know any other locals who would like to come.

If you are planning to come to drop-in and are not on the BAC tour let me know?

Hullo Chris,

If there's still space on the BAC tour please put me down for both. If the tour is full I'll see you afterwards is the BM&MH.

Thanks for the above Chris.

I've just had an e-mail from a Lady who'd like to join BS. Does anyone know how she finds the group on Streetlife?

All the best - Ian
Gail

Thanks Gail, I've passed it on.

Incidentally, you've just appeared on the front page of the Battersea Society's magazine. May I have your autograph? :-) .

GAH!

Can we see Wednesday? Lots of Street Party people coming along!
Ian Bull
Yes, I'll bring it. Don't read the rest, it contains an article by a chap who can't be bothered to get a hair cut...

DROP-IN TONIGHT

As most of the members are going to the BAC Tour and reception  tonight we may as well have the drop-in in the BAC bar.

If any members are planning to come tonight but are not going on the tour you can meet in the BAC bar and the group will join you after the tour (at about 8.30) and we can either stay at the BAC bar or we can walk over to The Mess.

For those who do not know the BAC bar  you walk past the box office into the main lobby and turn right and you will see the bar - you do not need to be a member to use the bar. For those who may need to eat they usually serve hot bar meals and snacks.

Let me know if you are coming to the drop-in but not the BAC tour?

Hi, does anyone know if there's a spare ticket for the BAC tour please?  I'll then hot foot it to the bar and join the BS? Thanks
Battersea Social
Hi Mel, yes no problem just drop me an email to batterseasocial@btinternet.com and I will put your name on the list. Then meet at BAC at 6.30

I will meet you in the BAC reception area and the tour starts at about 7pm or sooner if everyone has arrived. Regards Chris

Many thanks to Chris for arranging this. I thought that Phillip Payne was a superb guide. I've been taken around many commercial buildings, sometimes by rather well-known historians, and none have been any better.

Highly appreciated.

A great tour last night at BAC.
It was fantastic to see such little nuggets of beauty and heritage hidden away in dusty nooks and crannies. It was further enhanced to be guided around by Philip who was so personally enthusiastic by what he was able to show us.

Thank you to the BAC staff who stayed late to enable it to happen and thanks Chris for organising.

I concur!  What an interesting tour and enthusiastic commentary and 'snippets' - thanks to all who made it happen, and others who contributed to interesting conversation.

Very enjoyable and instructive tour!

Big thank you to Chris, for organising and to Kane, David, Philip and the BAC, also for the refreshments.
