cups, needles, hands, pain....relief

Hello,

My physio suggested that I try some deep tissue massage and/or acupuncture, acupressure, cupping for some ongoing muscle and neural stiffness.

I thought, in the first instance, I'd visit one of the Chinese Practitioners I see around - but have no idea how to chose one.

Has anyone used any of the Chinese Practitioners in either around Tooting or Clapham Junction?

I would appreciate some feedback or recommendations for this type of treatment (not looking to have Chiropractic or Osteopathy this time).

I looked back over past threads and it doesn't seem that this topic has been raised before.

Hello green door.

A few years ago I had a "frozen shoulder" that was so painful I could hardly dress myself and was told there was no real cure - it comes on suddenly and can go just as suddenly, maybe up to two years later.

Reduced to tears with the pain one day I dropped into the Chinese herbalist in the Southside centre. Half an hour or so later, after acupuncture, cupping and some excruciating manipulation I walked out with dignity, almost pain free. A second visit a week later and I was completely cured. I reckon it was probably the manipulation that freed a trapped nerve, but no doctor had suggested or tried it. I would definitely go again - it was worth every penny.

Hey thanks Jenny P. for your comment. It was esp encouraging as, by co-incidence, my problem is also with a "fs". I will definitely try it out...

I also use Vicky Holmes at Juliet Moss on Nightingale Lane - she is a trained physio and does acupuncture too - brilliant - I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else
