Sofa going begging
I have a large 3.seater sofa in moss green from Sofa.com. I have only had it for three years but have bought a new one in Peter Jones clearance. I am therefore looking to get rid of it, if anyone knows, anyone who needs a new sofa or anyone who can take it away please let me know.

Sandra, please ask your friend to contact Richard - the shop manager - 0208 871 1812 between 10 and 5 Mon to Fri and we will see what we can do for her regarding furniture needs.
Call Richard 0208 871 1812 - to arrange collection and in the meantime hopefully Sandra/Caroline can also get in touch and we can progress this.
One thing that does need to be confirmed is that the sofa has a fire retardent label permanently attached, that shows it complies with current fire regulations...
I received lot of donation of children books, toys, household items etc... I have put them outside in the hostel for families to pick up what they want or need. The manager told me that everything has to be gone by tomorrow night. Should we arrange something for tomorrow, for you to pick it up for the Oasis shops? Or if you can't maybe Salvation army might be interested...
I am also going to visit every single families to see what they need. Today I saw some hostel staff throwing a big TV away ! I told them what are you doing? Many people here need those stuff. Apparently they can't give it away for health and safety so they are throwing it ! I hate waste, maybe you and salvation army could meet up with the hostel to arrange to collect stuff people leave ! Homeless families are only here temporary before behing rehoused ! It would be great to avoid throwing away perfectly good stuff that families left behind ! How can we have electric things tested to avoid them to be wasted?
I got a free tv 2 weeks ago through freecycle for one family and the little girl was so happy to have one !I can't bear good stuff beeing thrown away when it could have been usefull for someone else...
It seems to me that you need to firstly work through the excitement/shambles of your surrounding conditions...kids clubs/washing machines/TVs being thrown out./manager says everything must go.....as you are in a hostel, I assume you are "working" within the Wandsworth Council system...??? Please, once you have confirmed the level of "outside" support you might need then get in touch....get back to us here......or in desperate need 0208 871 3765 at the Salvation Army Hall in Ram Street, Wandsworth......
Depending on what the items are, I could collect early evening today. Do you want to give me a call on 07970 349740 or message me your number and I will call you? I am sure Richard (Salvation Army) and I can help you out in general with PAT testing etc when you have the go ahead from the hostel management.
Talk soon.
Gill
