I have had problems with BBC this week

I have had some problems too, but thought it may be due to the bad weather.  It also happened whilst I was watching the finals at Wimbledon on Sunday, so I wasn't very happy. 

From reading your other posts I know we live very near each other,maybe it is reception in our area

We've been having problems with our Sky satellite signal - always in the middle of a downpour, including during the Wimbledon final like you Michelle! So i think it must be weather-related..

Definitely the weather - Sky dish can't cope with all the rain!

I have got  BTVision  so it can't be Sky

Hi folks, I had this same experience during the mens final - I assumed it was my Sky dish, but given the sheer volume of water in the sky during the downpours, I wonder if the big raindrops perhaps caused a temporary physical barrier to the signals getting through - they are just radio-type waves after all, subject to some interference, and there were exceptionally heavy downpours that day.
Just a thought... from a non-expert ;-)

In Battersea I also had problems.  I have a self assembly satellite dish and thought it must need adjustment.  It certainly was affected by rain.  However, in a dry patch, I climbed the ladder to readjust and lost the picture completely!

Yesterday, in another dry patch, I systematically started with the digi box and worked back to the satellite dish.  Excellent signal but - No picture, nada.  This was on BBC1.  So I changed to BBC2 and, lo and behold, perfect picture.  Switched back to BBC1 - sorted, even when it started to rain.

Can't explain at all - just happy!

PS I watched the tennis finals on my computer screen.

We had exactly the same problem in the men's final.  Definitely the weather affecting the dish!

And I spoke too soon because my television has gone on the blink again!

Has this anything to do with transfer to HD.  I am still having difficulty getting local reception but can get Scotland, Northern Ireland, South West, South and almost everything else.
