Recycling Metal

Hello everyone, does anyone know of a place I could take some old bits of metal to be recycled - it's a broken bistro patio chair and the legs and back off a broken directors chair so can't really go into the normal recycling.  I am loathe to put it in landfill!

Scrap metal can be taken to the Smugglers Way tip. They call it a reuse and recycling centre so hopefully it wouldn't end up in landfill.

I have used J.A. Pullen (see 1st in list below) on several occasions, for lead, copper and other metals and noticed that other people brought iron and steel etc. too.
I even got paid when I brought my metals!
But best to phone to check, what they accept.

The list below I just compiled from the Internet after doing a "scrap metal" search!

Good list Marianne! I've used Chase metal - got £90 cash for my bits of old copper. Small amounts of other metals aren't really worth the hassle, so do what MsAmanda says and chuck it in the metal skip at Smugglers way. There is a special skip there for metal. Ask the staff there if you can't find it. Yay to recylcling!
