Traffic Wardens

why do the wardens have to come to Fircroft shops and fine people for parking on the roadside doing no harm to anyone.  It is not as if the road is particulaly narrow or dangerous.  Seems to me this is just easy money for the council as I assume it happens in other area's.  Why don't they go to area's where the traffic is snarled up causing delays for everyone.  On another note mr council, when are we going to be allowed to use the bus lanes on the outskirts of town now that there are less busses?

They should come to Fircroft shops and fine for littering - see topic 'Litter'.

I have observed the Parking Wardens on a number of times, what one must remember is that the people who do this job tend to fit a profile, Hungry for power & authority, spineless and hide behind legislation, this explains why they never go after those which deserve it incase they recieve confrontation, and if they are caught in the act they are quick to point out that it is your fault for the infringement nomatter how minor!

Point to note, if you return to your car as they are doing a ticket and they try to engage you in conversation, it is to delay you to the point that the ticket is issued, I simply ignored them, got in the car and drove away... 18mts later = NO Ticket!  No need to be rude or abusive just leave them standing!

The answer's simple.  Don't park where you shouldn't.  Sweet or nasty, it doesn't matter, as if you are not committing a parking offence they ignore you.

It's a bit rich committing parking offences and  then blaming wardens.

As regards bus lanes.  I used to live in Leeds.  All the bus lanes had cameras, all the buses had forward facing cameras, and nobody drove in bus lanes.  when I moved to Manchester where there were no cameras, everyone drove in the bus lanes.

Seen a parking warden checking motors at a little after 7 am in York rd pretty keen I would say .
Anything serious was to occur You might see someone later in the week.

the difference in leeds and manchester, there are buses on the routes, here from asda to norwich road where there is a queue at the best of times there is hardly a bus all day

The Norwich Road system was designed deliberately to queue traffic at the morning peak near Asda, where there are few houses and pedestrians, rather than at the lower end where there are houses, pedestrians and crossing traffic.

Going back to the traffic wardens they are now also ticketing outside Garrick Way Co-op so be aware of that.

as I said they really go where there is a problem.

I do agree with dick - if you are breaking the law, then you can't really complain.  Having said that, I think some of them are power mongers and deliberately over zealous, the only ticket I have got was down in Felixstowe a few years back and I returned just as he had done it - he took great pride in telling us that he had used up his whole book ticketing a whole line of cars!!!
