For future reference:

Iain Goldsmith is a highly skilled cabinet maker / carpenter, lives locally and charges extremely reasonable rates!

He too can turn his hand to a large variety of other disciplines........

His mobile number is 07937-346.082.

Do mention my name as a reference.

Hi all.
I was really interested in this topic.
So i made a test. I called three handyman's Mark Steward, Iain Goldsmith and Martin Moser.
I must say Mark Steward was really unfriendly on the phone. Plus he charged 65£ for 2 hours!!
And the working quality wasn't very good. Iain Goldsmith was disappointing. First he didn't turned up and than once i called him again, he was telling me that's not long enough. For 2hours he wouldn't come!
In the end i called Martin Moser. He was very friendly and even came on the same day in the evening. Charged 35£ for 2hour. And his work was brilliant!

Thank you to all.

I can recommend Darren Murray. Charges £15 an hour. Pleasant. Turns up! Turns up on time!  Doesn't charge for parking and did job of repairing some kitchen drawers well. Will come out for two hours. See his details above.
