Another online scam to be aware of...

Beware of an email purporting come from FedEx. It is not. It states that a delivery has not been delivered and gives a window asking for shipping label details. DO NOT activate this! Erase the email immediately. The clue is in the sender's address, showing it coming from Fedeex.com, not Fedex.

Another doing the rounds again is one appearing to come from PayPal saying £39.99 (its always this amount)  has been debited to your account for 3 months worth of Skype.  It then says if you want to dispute this you need to  email the address given.  If you put the email address in Google it will give details of the scam.  It does look very authentic particularly is you use Skype.

There is another from PayPal - asking you to 'register a new card because the original one was declined'.  Again - looks kosher.  Really on the ball with this one, PayPal address their clients personally in emails - this one did as well, unfortunately it used an account which is one kept for 'gaming' and has my gaming name on it ..  I had two (yesterday) from the Nationwide - again on the gaming account.  I had one from Santander - yesterday ... I don't see the junk ones.

If you have ordered nothing, are awaiting delivery of nothing, but do have accounts with these people, please log in from your providers home page not by clicking the link.

ALSO the one where 'Microsoft' telephone you because of 'wiruses' you are spreading has raised it's weary head again.  Three times yesterday.  Standard response of 'I don't have ONE computer' gets them hanging up ...

And as I typed I had a notification from UPS parcel service ... asking me to click a link to read a file about the delivery anticipated ... and you know - someone will.

Following on the Indian voiced Microsoft scam I encountered last year I am getting the same or very similar voice supposedly from Western Union telling me there is money waiting to be returned to my account.......  Western Union and my Mastercard dealt with the problem a few months ago.  I rang the number given to me and 'it has been removed from memory' what ever that means

Very timely warning...a UPS one dropped into my inbox early afternoon...doing the rounds again...keeps us on our toes.

Kate, I keep getting the 'refund due' one...told the last caller to get himself a more dignified job for a happier life. Also they have evidently been taught that it is polite to say 'how are you?' which makes me incandescent with annoyance immediately!

Nice one! The number given was Western Union though,
