Dear Cllr White
I am sure that you are aware that a number of residents turned up for the advertised “Ask The Cabinet Meeting” at Havering Town Hall on 15 August 2012. On arrival we were informed by your assistant Julian Strong that the meeting had been cancelled. I am sure that you must be aware that people made a lot of effort to attend and to cancel a meeting without notice is totally unacceptable.
There was one lady Frances Turan, who had travelled all the way from Tring in Hertfordshire to
raise an important issue on behalf of her son. I approached Julian Strong and asked if he would speak to you and ask if you could spare a few minutes to speak to this lady. Julian agreed to speak to you and returned shortly after and announced that you were in a meeting and would not be able to speak to her. To make matters worse, Julian did not even take this ladies contact details for you to get back to her at a later date. In fact he did not ask anyone if they had any concerns that could be passed on. Mrs Turan was very distressed and upset by your response. I can assure you Cllr White, she does have an extremely serious complaint and your flippant attitude towards her and the other residents was despicable! I think that you should contact Mrs Turan as a matter of urgency, If you get back to me via email I will send you her telephone number and email address.
