I wonder how many of us get as much as we can locally. I did just that this week and not only got lovely fresh vegetables but had a lovely chat as well with the msn selling them too.
It's always wonderful when people have a stall outside their home with eggs, vegetables, and crafts etc for sale. Might be wonderful for everyone to get together and have garden market once in a while. I make wheel-thrown pottery in my back garden studio.
Don't forget the Country Market! homebaked cakes, savouries, preserves ,also plants and crafts every Friday from 0830-1115 at the Football Club on KHM. We have been around Wymondham for 30 years, but still seem to be the town's best kept secret - come and see us, we don't bite..................and we do have some veg when our members have too much for themselves, but it goes very quickly
Veronica,I didn't know about the country market on a Friday...been in Wymondham 7 years now...perhaps because I usually work that day...but will pop along next time I am off.
Wow, what an enjoyable and quirky experience!! Today I have visited The Egg Shed and also it's adjacent Tea Shed where I bought some of the freshest eggs, and then enjoyed tea and lemon drizzle on the peaceful lawn. This will now be a regular treat each time I visit Wymondham. It's so fantastic to have these delightful little eccentricities to enjoy!
Veronica - I attempted to visit the Country market last Friday, however I convinced myself it was at the Rugby Club, and of course wasn't on when I got there. You are right about best kept secret!! Will try again some other time.
Always shop locally where and when we can. Hethersett butchers is excellent and there is an egg farm at Kett's Oak virtually opposite Park Farm Hotel. Wymondham Market is always good and that gives me an excuse to go into Karen Chilvers' cafe in the main street for one of her breakfasts sourced from local produce.

There's other local produce in addition to eggs.
It's amazing to find out about these things that we didn't even know existed. I'll pop by the Egg Shed next time I'm in Wymondham.
