Rats on the tenth floor...

I had a friend who moved into a flat on the tenth floor of a local apartment block and found a hole in the floor in the centre of the living room as her new carpet was being laid.

As she looked at the hole a rat poked its head out and she quickly covered up the hole with a piece of cardboard and called the council for help.

In due course an inspector arrived and placed a peanut butter bait by the side of the hole and waited, hammer in hand, for the rat to re-appear. However, to his astonishment a fish jumped out of the hole and quickly disappeared with the bait in its mouth.

He told my friend he was surprised about the fish, and she told him that she was aware of it but she had  called the Council because she  thought that the rat was more of a problem than the rising damp.
