London or Kent?

Hi,

Do you think Bromley fits into London or Kent? Other places across the capital, such as Ilford or Romford, seem to slot into both Essex and London. But do you feel more like a Londoner? Or more at home in England's garden?

We have more in common with a Kentish town but are a London Borough (the Largest) London Phone numbers Kent post codes. It's a transitional borough and one that from my point of view sees far more drawbacks as a result. The extension of the unfortunately name 'Overground' should link Bromley with Londons tube system and run regularly but it doesn't! Nobody beleives the overground is a tube (nor is it)

Its all about the old LCC in the sixties wanting more money, centralisation and power later to become the GLC that gleaned more rates from us! It really depends on whether we have a local connection or not as there are very few 'original inhabitants' descendants living here! My closest association after living here since the Sixties is Woolwich (also originally Kent but got absorbed into London SE18). This is due to my father being Army Royal Artillery and QM RA HQ untill 1953. I do not consider that I am 'a Londoner' more likely a 'Southerner' with links with the Gaelic peoples!
