It seems a hub of excitement for kids in Hornchurch.

Not sure you should limit yourself to Hornchurch. Have lived here all of my life and raised 2 children here, have to say there its really not that much for children. Wgen you compare Hornchurch to other towns we are woefully inadequate. Look at King George's Playing Fields in Brentwood or Grays Beach, even Bedford Park with its fantastic visitor centre. W have a fabulous resource here, the country park, but with two young children you can only visit for a sorry time as there ate no facilities.

Cranham's good if you like nature stuff. There are guided tours from time to time at the Brickfields Nature Reserve which includes Frank's Woods, and there is a children's playground.

There is a Wildlife and Wetlands Trust up near All Saints' Church.

And in Pike Lane, there's the Thames Chase Visitor Centre - there's and apple day soon where you can buy apples from their orchard.
