Wooden door or glass door?

There are usually very clear instructions with these cat flaps - just get a carpenter/handy man to make the hole and you can actually fit the cat flap yourself.

I did mine myself and it is surprisingly simple. The instructions are very clear and show you exactly how to mark out and cut the hole then how to fit the catflap.
If you don't fancy doing it yourself I can't imagine it should cost much for someone else to do it as it is such a quick and easy job, particularly as it is a wooden door. I would suggest you think about the type of catflap too, as I have had a problem with a neighbouring cat coming in and eating my cats food. It might be worth getting one that comes with a microchip for your cat so only your cat can go in/out, which would be fitted by your vet.
Good luck, and I hope you get your cat soon :-)

If you really want someone to do it for you, try George Albu (07956 564800). Someone recommended him on these boards as a handyman and I used him and was also impressed.  He charges about £10 or £11 per hour.  He should be able to do it in a couple of hours.

the above comments all sound sensible, or ask for a recommendation at a pet shop

Yes, I would also highly recommend George and have done so to many people. No job is too small. Over the years I have used him to do things like tidying up my garden, fitting light switches, painting and decorating and fitting a completely new bathroom. Hope you get your cat flap sorted soon.
