Police Commissioner

How can someone be elected as a Polioce Commissioner who hasn't canvassed, or even sent out any information about why he feels he is the ideal person for the job?   For those people who don't have access to the internet, the candidates on the ballot paper might just as well have been from Mars.

Even if you had internet access all you got was comment from candidates, no details on education, business experience, financial ability, knowledge of law enforcement and then they blame apathy. Not apathy, anger at this total, waste of taxpayers money.

and just over a 16% turn out? How is that fair?

I see our newly elected police commissioner blamed the low turnout on bad weather. Obviously someone who is as astute as this will drive down crime in Suffolk.

And he didn't even get the most first choice votes! How does that work?
Trevor C
They blamed the time of year, apathy of voters and the weather. They shunned the real reason, general public are not in agreement with this ridiculous waste of tax payers money.

I did vote but must admit it was very difficult to get any information on the candidates.  I think the decision to save tax payers money and not have a mail out was a very bad decision.  Perhaps if we see if having these voted in candidates make a difference more people may vote next time.

Our new Police Commissioner has not exactly hit the ground running - not heard anything from him yet.

I see the commissioner for Northamptonshire has already appointed 4 assistant commissioners. All this at tax payers expense. It cannot be right.

it is all a con anyway we need more indians not more cheifs, that just push paper, his wage would probably put two bodies on the street where they are needed
Sharon C
I think you may be right Seaspirit!

we had three police cars/vans in stowmarket high street and my mobility scooter was still removed from outside the legion why were they all at the bottom end of the high street
they were too drunk to move the heavy machine far, but did get part of it in the road, could have been an accident with an on coming car.

Are you OK though?  It must have been a fright to come out and find it gone  you would have been quite stuck!  Hope no damage was done to the old broom stick!
