Any Good Fish N Chip Shops?

Trying to find a good fish and chip shop in or around Sidmouth. I've tried a couple of places but  got undercooked chips from frozen bags. Anyone know where you can get fresh cut chips properly cooked?

The White Horse in old Fore street, they actually peel fresh potatoes everyday and the chips tatse divine -you also get nice crispy  bits on them...  Om nom nom.  Lovely home-made foods to enjoy at the cafe, too.
A family-owned business where the 'crew' often speak French to each other, even though they are all from various different backgrounds. :)

Hi Robin F

Best chips are from Frydays in Seaton - by the Wishing Well.  I like a cone of chips and walk along the prom.  (or fly!) where nobody knows who you are.
I don't eat fish!

Mr Seagull says the fish and chips at the Rising Sun are good - I think they do a takeaway service on some evenings.

I'll second that Anne, I love the food from the White Horse.

The best fish and chips in Sidmouth is at Prospect Plaice. Every time a visitor asks me I always direct them there.

Many thanks to everyone, I will try some of those suggestions. Thanks also Sue, I don't want to sound ungrateful for you taking the time to help, but the reason I was asking is because Prospect Plaice is amongst those that served me cold chips cooked from frozen bags that took over 20 minutes to prepare. I had to throw all my cold undercooked chips away from there, a real waste of my £5.

White Horse by a mile. Mind you the chips from Sidmouth Tandoori are magnificent too.

Interesting - will try White Horse. I also bad experience Prospect Place. Never returned.
Best fish chips I found in the area is at Exmouth - opposite Swimmng pool. Have treat from there once a year - picnic in the car over looking estuary.
