Hi Jim, we have kept tropical fish for years no problem, you will just need to add some water safe fluid to your tank it will take all the chlorine and stuff out of it to make it safe for your fish, we have never tried marine fish though as they look like they need a lot of looking after. our water here is extremely hard and we have to descale the pumps once a year...
