It was not a bad day so thought I would go bowling. Went all the way down to the Exmouth new bowling alley only to find a notice on the door 'Closed until further notice' The place has only just opened....!
That's disappointing! We've tried the coffee shop/area a couple of times, but it is sooooo noisy! - no soft edges to take the levels down. It looks very good, and hope in future it will get easier to find someone to get a cuppa, and perhaps something to eat with it would be nice.
We went Friday morning intending to have a coffee but soon changed our minds.There was no one around to spk to and we ended up asking some of the builders were the coffee bar was,we were then directed to it and it looked more like a builders cafe.I hope it improves in time for the Easter holiday visitors from Sandy Bay who I'm sure will want to visit it.
The Bowling Alley closed Suday afternoon as my husband and I were about to enter. It was due to a few people saying that they felt 'woosey'. Therefore, it was closed for safety reasons as there are propane gas cylinders in there. The manager said he had no alternative but to close. Fire engine arrived within a couple of minutes. They did the right thing in closing it. Pity, because it looked quite busy and people were enjoying themselves. I hope it is up and running soon for all concerned.
I have to say I would love to see it open again, However given the history of the place I cannot help being suspicious. I noticed the gas heater set between the lanes with an enormous gas cylinder next to it. It looked to me like an accident waiting to happen. Cannot help wondering if having got his sought after 125 year lease this Developer has other intentions in mind apart from running a bowling alley and centre
I've been bowling at the new place a couple of times now and my only criticism is that there seems to be no atmosphere at all :( there are no painting on the walls and in every other bowling alley I've been too there is more of a 'disco' lighting system (darker with flashing lights) but the exmouth one is just too bright and baron. Maybe they will change it when they are up and running fully?!
