The more comments the more we can get the feelings of the Whittlesey (and surrounding area) residents on the need for this to be upgraded as soon as possible.

Please feel free to post this link to Facebook and other social networking sites so that it reaches as many people as possible.

I have lived in Whittlesey for over 30 yrs, every winter we have to put up with long queues at the crossing because the north bank is flooded. this impacts on the town as sometimes the queues for the gates back up as far as the roundabout. If we had a bridge over the crossing we could attract more business to the town, no one will relocate here because  of the crossing. Please consider giving us the funding to build a bridge.

I'm a war's end baby boomer born in W'sey and as long as I can remember a flyover at Kings Dyke has been on the horizon - trouble is the horizon continually moves with the rotation of the Earth. As the rail yards at March continue to expand the gates will be closed for longer periods, don't forget this also affects station road. Increased housing may be eminant resulting in yet more congestion at the gates but what about small business not forgetting ambulances and possibly extra fire engines. W'sey is like an island during the flood periods - roads closed, gates closed, both of which will continue to get worse. This town desperately needs a reliable, permantly open, link to the outside world. Cannot the railways contribute to the cost - they are contributing to the feeling of isolation which will only get worse.

The increase in rail traffic isn't from March, but the upgrade from Felixtowe to Nuneaton.  It is exactly what we are trying to use as a case to get the crossing done and yes Network Rail are one of the organisations that will be looked at for funding.

Lets go one step at a time,In this day and age we still have hand operated gates in station road, when my relatives come over from Germany they just cannot beleave it, Auto barriers would be a God send.I have waited as long as 20 minuits there.

Hi All
Whilst the wash road was close we averaged   8 MPH coming from the stanground to whittlesey during the rush hour .  I am sure that the Royal Engineers could complete a fly over in double quick time, so instead of making the army redundant why not let them do the job as a very good exercise.

We need to keep promoting the petition for a bridge over the Kings Dyke crossing so that does not get forgotten at County Council level. Please pass the link below to as many people as possible to get more signatures: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/kings-dyke-bridge/
