Banks

Was in Santander at the Heathway for nearly 4 hours today, in the end I closed all accounts. This branch is not disabled friendly, especially if you want to access a private room for advice. I found it hard moving about with just a crutch so someone in a wheelchair would not stand a chance even mums with pushchairs had to keep asking people to move as there is limited room for people waiting to be seen. Has anyone else had problems?

I used to use the Nat West Bank at the Heathway, but found it useless, even the staff did not know what they were talking about.

If I have to go to the bank now, I go to the larger branch in Romford, it is 3 or 4 times the size and the staff seem to know what they were doing.

But your best bet is to use "Online Banking", where you have complete control 24 hours a day, but obviously you have to have a computer.

Been using online banking since 2001, I swear by it. - However I do understand your gripe about santander in Heathway. I have a daughter in a pram and I find it a nightmare. It is a small useless place. My son goes to school in Romford and after I drop him I go to the one in Romford.
If you can get to Romford use that one.

Yes, if we want "free" banking we're going to have to get used to doing it online and at cashpoints.

I have online banking but I had trustee accounts which you can only access at the branch that they were opened. My main account is at Lloyds but have been using the online banking for that for years with no problems. My gripe about santander was that a lot of people are unable to travel to other branches and cannot use a computer so have no choice but to use Heathway
