Thanks for volunteering so far you are the only one. Not worked out a date and time yet waiting to see how many others respond. Thanks once again will get back to you as soon as possible

I could maybe come with my children- would be a good thing for them to be involved in but they are young.

Do you mean Westacott around the top of Whiddon Valley ?

hi Susanna and Gill,
to date we have a total of five volunteers this includes my wife chris and me and a neighbour across the road. although we refer to the Westacott area this would inlcude the wood paths going down towards Tesco. I work shifts but would be interested in what times and days would be acceptable to you.

My husband wonders if the council would provide us with sacks etc as they have done in the past (apparently). he also works shifts so tell us wheb you were free and we will see what we can do.

Hi Chris we're not quite sure where you are referring to when you say Westacott. We live in Woodland Close and have noticed that the main tarmac path that runs from Primrose Avenue alongside Coney Gut to the main road nearly opposite the North Devon Homes building is getting very overgrown with grass in places. Near the main road end the grass has encroached so much it has at least halved the width of the path. Of course we would be willing to help elsewhere but we are particularly concerned with that.

Yes all along there needs doing it may be that we can get the council to help with clearing the edges of the path I will email them to find out

Hi Susanna and Gill,
just to keep you updated we have been fairly busy.  I have contacted the council who are willing to provide bags for the clean up effort.  The council have also tasked a team to clear the walking path between Whiddon Drive and Foxglove close.  The dumped tyres will hopefully be cleared within the next seven days.
So it should be down to litter collecting.  I appreciate everyone has differing commitments so if you could offer best times and days we will try and fall in with you guys.  I will hopefully collect the bags from the council offices tomorrow, Friday.

Hi Chris I have been talking on behalf of my husband as well and although we do have commitments, as we are retired we will try to fit in with those of you who are working.
Could you also get litter grabbers from the council they do save handling the rubbish.

Hi Gill,
the weather is a bit better now.  My wife and I have still been going out clearing areas, you could almost do it on a daily basis.  The council have given us a roll of black bin bags and another gadget for picking up the litter.  I am on lates this week 1400 till 2200 and then days at the weekend 0730 to 1630 so if you are able to do a morning this week or and evening at the weekend that would be great.
