London's Water: Managing Drought and Flood
Transition Highgate/HiCAN, the Muswell Hill Sustainability Group and Sustainable Haringey invite you to the first of 3 planned public meetings, called to address one big question: how well prepared is London to meet the challenge of climate change?
The theme of the first meeting is:
LONDON'S WATER: MANAGING DROUGHT AND FLOOD
After the extreme weather disasters of 2012, water management is high on the agenda of government agencies, NGOs, thinktanks , local authorities and community groups. London will not be immune from the effects of national water stress. How resilient are the capital's water systems in the face of future weather extremes, population growth, crumbling infrastructure, and continuing austerity in the public sphere?
Our speaker for this meeting is:
Nick Reeves, OBE, Executive Director of CIWEM (Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management). As well as his numerous and longstanding environmental credentials, Nick has a rich and varied background in arts and journalism.
Date and time: Thursday 14 March, 18.30. Free.
Venue: The Highgate Society Hall, 10A South Grove, N6 6BS
There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.
We look forward to seeing you there!
