What is Secularism?

Does secularism mean non-religious, or a level playing field where all faiths and beliefs are respected? Can we still enjoy Christmas, and should there be faith schools?

Stephen Evans from the National Secular Society (NSS) is going to help us answer and explore these questions in a presentation followed by discussion, when everyone is welcome to join in.

He will be bringing a historical perspective too, as the NSS celebrates its 150th birthday.

Stephen Evans is the campaigns director of the National Secular Society, playing a leading role in the society’s campaigns and advocacy work, covering a wide range of issues including religion and belief in schools, equality and human rights and social cohesion.
