We also had our cable cut overnight on 12th/13th December and we live in Milldale Crescent. Didn't realise anyone else had experienced the problem.

Thanks Patricia. I have sent an email to the address that you kindly gave me regarding this incident. My husband was able to repair ours but I expect some people may have had to get a professional in to do it which could be very costly. Don't some people go to extraordinary lengths to get their kicks.

I thought they were stealing the cable to sell, not just cutting it. Weird.

It's full of copper apparently.

No, I think they just did it because they thought it would be funny. Luckily there is plenty of spare cable on ours so my husband was able to re-connec t it to the dish. Other people may not have been able to repair theirs so may have had to pay a call-out charge to get someone to do it for them. I had a phone call from the police who have given me a crime number, hopefully it won't happen again. They offered us support if we needed it, in case we felt nervous or intimidated by the experience, but we are OK with it. It's just a nuisance when certain types of people think they can just go around causing trouble and disruption in people lives. An elderly person living alone may not have known what to do in this situation.

Rather more serious than what  my two got up to years ago when remote controls first came out for the televisions. By some quirk they discovered thhat the remote we had  could change the channels  on our neighbours televisons! we all had a good laugh when we caught them doing it.
