Girls Rugby Open Evening

to , (ended)
Lakenham Hewett RFC in Lakenham Hewett RFC
Since April 2008 Lakenham Hewett Rugby Club has proudly been offering Girls the opportunity to participate in rugby. For Girls Rugby to grow Lakenham Hewett RFC and the RFU have been; and still are working tirelessly with local Primary Schools, Secondary Schools & Colleges delivering in curriculum lessons and setting up after school and lunchtime clubs.

Primarily to make Girls aware of rugby, its traditions and values to instil into to them the Core Values of Rugby which are TEAMWORK, RESPECT, ENJOYMENT, DICIPLINE and SPORTSMANSHIP. Secondarily to signpost clearly the opportunities available to them outside of school; and finally show them that no matter what their shape, size or ability there is a place for them to play rugby and most importantly have fun.

To facilitate the building of new schools club links and strengthening those already in existence an open evening has been arranged at Lakenham Hewett Rugby Club on Tuesday 12th February, to introduce Girls who are interested in trying rugby to the rest of the team, the location of the club but more importantly show them how much fun they can have playing rugby outside of school.

The clubhouse will be open from 5.30pm with training starting at 6pm and finishing by 8pm where we will look at passing, tackling and other core skills of rugby in game based activities. After training all participants are warmly invited to stay and enjoy a complimentary meal provided by the club. Please could you email me to indicate if you would like to come along to the evening, as this will allow the rugby club to know how many girls to expect.

Please ensure that old warm clothes are warn to training that can get a bit dirty or damaged. A gum shield, a personal water bottle are also required, football or rugby boots are useful but not essential. (If we receive the confirmation email in good time we might have a spare pair that can be borrowed.)

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to come along to the event. However if it is not possible we will need to know some basic details prior to the evening.

Participants Name, their D.O.B, the school they attend and any medical conditions they might have along with a named next of kin with their mobile and home phone numbers.

Please confirm attendance by Friday 8th February
If you require more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
