chap told me it took 3 kettles of hot water to free up a tap where he goes each morning to feed and water a horse- never had this happen in many years  so he says.
iv been adding antifreeze in my bucket and window cleaning continues as normal.

Gonna get colder! But we're British and hardy, so bring it on !!

Yes, it could be worse.  We could be Scottish and then we'd have to wear skirts!
Mr Fruitgum
Get ready for the snow tonight and tomorrow

I think BBC. Look east has really gone the top as regards the weather. We had Stuart W. bleating on about dodgy roads , the police and AA nannying everybody and telling us what to do as if we are all stupid and can't care for ourselves, then 3times during the program the blinking weather girl comes on and tells us what it's going to be like !! Then bugger me at the end she give us aWEATHER report this has been going on for a couple of evenings.what happened to the other news that normally occurs!! Also why does it take at least 3 reporters to tell us everything, most of the news is about Norfolk and Norwich anyway, other counties seem to live on the periphery where not much happens.! Waste of license money I say. God I feel better for that! Even if I'm totally wrong !!

"local" news on the tv always seems to focus on the town where the main studio is situated. I remember being very annoyed when living in Brighton, hearing about all the miniscule details of Southampton.  And again, in the depths of Cornwall being lambasted with "traffic congestion in Plymouth", more than an hour's drive away.  Based on that, the Look East issue seems normal.

Why is it that, whenever there's a hint of snow in the air, the country's news media go into a frenzy?  Pictures of gritting lorries, icicles hanging of guttering, and possibly some kids on sleds.  And usually, some twat using skis down the High Street.  It's like no-one in the media has ever seen snow before...

Yesterday on Anglia news they said solemnly that supermarkets were running out of supplies. Reminded me of a cartoon I saw once where a chap pushing a laden trolly is saying: "I'm stocking up before all the idiots start panic buying."

Supermarkets always say this to force people to use their facility, and some folk fall for it. Never mind Mike they can always stock up on horsemeat !!
Mike F
It's not the supermarkets, it's the media.

I'm galloping up to Tesco...

Forecast your own weather (I do - http://www.trimley.com/weather  )
As we all know it can be a sunny day in Ipswich but Felixstowe it's foggy. or its chucking it down up the A14 and the sun is blazing in Felixstoe.

A Zammbretti forecaster will predict the local weather for the rest of the day at 9am
http://www.meteormetrics.com/zambretti.htm  These can be brought for a few pounds on ebay

As I have posted previously on here, I run a weather station in Old Felixstowe, mounted on the roof of my house.  It feeds live to my weather website at www.oldfelixstowe.co.uk where you can see what is happening in this part of the World.  On the whole it is pretty accurate apart from the rain gauge occassionally deciding it will just not record anything.  When my ship comes in I will upgrade it to a more professional station, but for those of you who are interested, it may be worth a look.

As an aside, if anyone wants to link into the site (as its Old Felixstowe based) then let me know and we can maybe look at adding some links etc.  No techie but I am sure we can do it.
Nick W
By the way..... for Zaax... I use the saame software (Cumulus) to upload so we both look similar.  Different weather station, and m,ine is actually 24/7, but you should get some interesteing comparisons between Old Felixstowe and Trimley

I thought spring was on the way but no such luck - we could have snow by Friday. BBBrrrrrrr.

Nick W: That's yours, many thanks, I use it quite often as your seems to be higher than mine, and mine has  has trees to the north and therefore the wind is not 100% actuate.
Nick W
Thanks Zaax..  I try and keep it going.  I get silly spurious spikes in wind from time to time which is really irritating.  (editing 5 ini files to correct it).   Anemometer is on a 3 metre pole on the corner of the roof so as clean air as I can get.

It started just as an interest thing, but I really enjoy having it.  I laso automatically upload to Weather Underground where you can see weekly, monthly and even yearly charts if that interests you .  (sorry all you non weather people; I am getting carried away).

so try http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IENGLAND137 for the other stuff.
