Carole! yes, we go the Book reading at the library regularly. We were there yesterday and I wonder if you were one of the two new people we were glad to see there? I did not get your mess until this morn, so I did not know!! The next one is next month, hope to see you there! Carole 1 year ago Hi Marion. Yes I was one of the new ladies. I thoroughly enjoyed it - glad I went! I look forward to seeing you again at the next one. Marion V 1 year ago Good Carole!! We also go to the Poetry group at the Library-- not at all scary!! That is the last Friday in the month-will let you know if you like!!Marion . Roz D 1 year ago Can anyone tell me more about these groups please. I might be interested. Carole 1 year ago Hi Roz. If you call in at Beccles library you can collect the 'Top Time' leaflet which lists all the events they hold. (If this is difficult let me know & I can email the leaflet to you). The reading group is first Thursday every month. There is a suggested book to read in advance and the group discusses their thoughts on the book, writer, plot, characters etc..I have only been once but will be going again. The leaflet also mentions the poetry group but I have not been to that. Hopefully Marion V can tell you more about that. Roz D 1 year ago Thanks Carole.Next time I pass the libary I will get a leaflet. I have always fancied joining a book club and love reading. I always have a book on the go. I might also be interested in the poetry club. What happens there Marion? Wasn't it cold yesterday and not much better today by the look of it. I am just about to get wrapped up and take my little dog out. I don't think she would mind not going but it isn't good for her to be in her bed all day! Marion V 1 year ago Dear Roz--- This month's book to read is "The kashmir Shawl" by Rosie Thomas. It's very good, have read it before. If you want a copy, go to the library and ask about the reading group. We meet on Thursday &th March to discuss . We enjoy the Poetry session, It is on the last Friday of the month, from 3pm--4p.m. You can just sit and listen or bring your favourite poem (you may be asked to read it out!) or even , write a short poem of your own--we are all amateurs! The next one is --22nd Feb. and we shall be there. There is also a Creative writing Group if you fancy yourself as an author!!The next one is 8th March--3p.m.--4p.m. at the library. I don't go to that one We talk about poems that we like and are given the opportunity to write one ourselves on a suggested topic. .Best wishes-- Marion V. Roz D 1 year ago Hi MarionThanks for your information. What time on Thursday is the book read.? I may come along but doubt whether I will have time to read the book before. It would be interesting to see if I fancied the meeting though. I can't make the 22nd February as will be on my way to Ironbridge. Will make a note of the day on my calendar though. Have a good day.
