Bentley, Capel & Tattingstone First Responders

I've just joined Streetlife for the first time, and I thought it would be a good way to raise awareness of a voluntary group that I run - Bentley, Capel & Tattingstone First Responders. So I've set up this page, which provides information about the group and includes a link to our own website.

We have been operating since November 2011 and have a small number of active Responders, with a few new recruits currently awaiting their training. However we have always been very short of volunteers and are very keen to recruit more, in order to increase the amount of cover we can provide and help more patients.

If you've made any New Year's resolutions, perhaps to learn a useful new skill or get involved in volunteering right here in your own community, this might be just the thing for you!

If anyone has any questions about the group, or what it's like to be Responder, I'd be happy to answer them.

Happy New Year!

I imagine there are a lot of people around Capel, Bentley and Tattingstone who are hugely appreciative of the work you do and are hoping that somebody else will step forward to volunteer to help! What progress are you making to get more volunteers? Do you have enough yet?
We currently have 5 active Responders on the team, with one more being trained this week. With those numbers, in an average month we have someone on call only about 25% of the time. We got off to a very slow start recruitment-wise, but have had more interest recently, with about half a dozen new recruits currently awaiting training.

It's difficult to put a number on how many more people we need, as there is no minimum commitment involved - each Responder does as little or as much as they can, and the amount each of our current members do varies enormously. In short, we need all the help we can get!
