Last night on my way home from friends at Croyd, we saw a Badger, opposite Billy Budds, he was on the road, cleaning up some dropped food,
The first time I have seen a live Badger, normally they are Road Kill, perhaps this explains why there are so many deaths.

Hi there
In part I think you are right, but also our roads dissect their hunting territories and so they need to cross them or use them as as a pathway, therefore are on them when incautious drivers are more often travelling i.e. at night.
Glad you had the joy of seeing one, they put me in the mind of a voluminous skirt wearing lady bustling a long.
