Closure of Caroline street lavatories

Dina P
in Shipley
My local councillors cannot tell me how much saving the closure of Caroline St lavatories would make, as they don't know the current expense of keeping them open. To comment directly try https://bradford.moderngov.co.uk/mgconsultationdisplay.aspx?ID=68
Wilf B
A very short sighted policy by the council. Cross Country Rail have already had bad publicity due to a disabled lady on a four hour train journey being unable to use disabled toilets, as they were out of order, and having the indignity of urinating  ... [ more ]

Dina, I've seen the leader twice recently, once meeting someone in a bar and once having lunch with someone in a Bradford Restaurant and I had difficulty keeping my mouth shut. No doubt both meetings were paid for on expenses!

There is a time and a place for such outbursts and as I was with friends, neither place or the time was the right place or time. 'Perhaps the surest test of an individual's integrity is his refusal to do or say anything that would damage his ... [ more ]

Use it or lose it. We've lost it.

I was talking to the chap who has been selling fish in Shipley market again today and he has decided that today was his last visit due to poor sales. His fish was fantastic and I feel we have lost a decent trader. Fresh fish now all in Asda sadly.
Wilf B
KJ I posted it on here when the fish van first appeared at the market on Fridays  around four weeks ago. His fish was lovely and it's just a shame he couldn'y make it pay.

Mobile Fish Monger at Shipley Market

Fish directly from Grimsby docks and the quality is excellent. He was in position near the burger van on Friday, and hopefully Saturday. If we use this great addition to the market I'm sure he will keep returning, however, we'll lose it if he is not used.

Housing Development on Springhurst Road

Check if there was a tree preservation order on it, you can do this through your councillor or through the council itself. If there was they could have broken the law by felling it.

Saltaire Festival

Does anyone else hate this second weekend of the Festival as much as I do? The recycling hasn't been collected (why?), my street and all those around are full of white vans. This is a bus route and there is barely room for the bus to manoeuvre down ... [ more ]

They seem to be very active at the present time, I've noticed a lot more mole hills around the area and we certainly have them at the allotments on Northcliffe. Good Luck.

Odd encounter in Northcliffe woods

Hopefully I am being paranoid: I've just returned from a walk through the woods at Northcliffe. Whilst walking my lurchers through the woods, a man walked facing me on a different path and looked over at the dogs. 3 mins later, he appears behind me ... [ more ]

I would agree with the above comments, the Police and the Rangers should be informed of this incident. We have an allotment on Northcliffe and often walk through both Northclifffe and Heaton Woods. Fortunately we have, apart from fly tipping in Heaton ... [ more ]

Free Microwave.. bit rusty.

in Heaton Shay
I have a working microwave to give away, but it has some rust inside. If anyone would like it I can deliver it locally to Shipley
Wilf B
If it's rusty it could be emitting microwaves which are hazardous to anyone who is within their range. Just a thought!
Wilf B
It can happen with the door seals aswell Lyn, after a time they deteriorate and can leak microwaves. You can have them checked, but it is a bit pricey.

Shipley Building plastics did a very good job both on my son's house with complete replacements and on mt daughters house where they just replaced the glass in one window. Very reasonable.
