Hi I used to work for a school and we visited Clarke Hall in Wakefield for a whole day.  I tended to be in charge of the kitchen so have a folder with numerous authentic recipes etc if anyone would be interested. It seems a shame to throw them away. ... [ more ]

That sounds fascinating, Janet. Would be fun to have a local event featuring some of them?... Or what about donating them to East Riddlesden Hall?  I have a friend who volunteers there - if you want, I could ask him if they'd like them.

Guttering to be cleaned

We have a barge board which I think might have a hole in it and a bird or something is nesting under there - we can hear it when we are in an upstairs room. Is that something your husband could deal with, Louise, do you know?  (We might need new barge ... [ more ]

stretching muscles

Indeed.  I went to Chai several times and he did exactly the same routine each time and each time I found the effect to be just as if I'd done some yoga (which I've done since I was 14).

Handyperson required

I need someone who can put back a curtain pole which has collapsed, also hang one or two pictures and put a tumble dryer back. I removed it as I thought there was a leak at the back. There wasn't but my son and I cannot get it back in place.

Is this unfair?

A group of us worked really hard all morning putting rubbish from our church in a skip which was delivered to our car park in Hall Royd only this morning. We were surprised to find that a sofa has been added by persons unknown this afternoon and hope ... [ more ]

Yes it's not good.  A bit like how people fly-tip onto the edge of Heaton Woods although, sad to say, reporting it to the Council didn't lead to any action from them that I could see. I'm sorry.

That's very kind, Tony.  What sort of thing do you do musically?  We really need to get some music from asian groups, otherwise it's a pointless exercise, but I'd love to hear more from you.
Nigel C
Not pushy at all, Tony.  I'm just concerned to make this a MULTI-cultural musical event, as that's the point of it - with a view to bringing together different parts of the community via musical interest and pleasure etc

Cleaner - Thackley area

Jill K
in Moorhead
Could anyone recommend a household cleaner they are happy please - one who you've not had to put restrictions on what they are to clean eg 'don't touch glass/mirrors please' - many thanks in advance!
Nigel C
My experience of restrictions in relation to cleaners is that it is they who make them - 'I don't do ovens', etc.  Either that or they leave all the lights on, etc.  I didn't mind one of them drinking my whisky but then to deny it LOL Good luck.
