Can anyone recommend a company or person that can dispose of old mattresses please?
I had an old double sprung mattress to dispose of - I cut all the material off until only the metal springs were left (bundled the cloth outter bits up and tied with string in smallish bundles) then folded and tied the spring unit up in half which ... [ more ]
Not too sure about 'nextdoor'. They want too much private info for my liking. I like the semi-anonymity of Streetlife ?
Do you know anyone who has a Mazda RX8....... I am looking for one ! For a project...so cheaper the better... Thanks.
My Son had an RX8 - never again beautiful car inside and out, but the problems we had due to the rotary engine were awful and expensive! We got rid when the compression started going and it would need a rebuild (about £1500). Have seen quite a few on ... [ more ]
We had no mechanical experience at all and bought the car because it was absolutely beautiful, it was a Kuro and that sparkly black. It was a shame it had to go but with no experience it would have cost a fortune for us to get someone to do it. We ... [ more ]
We had same problem with main dealer when my son's RX8 started playing up - Mazda in Canford Cliffs in Poole. All they did was change plugs and leads as they didn't have a clue, none of their mechanics knew anything about RX8s rotary engine, cost us a ... [ more ]
I have recently been e-mailed by a local Councillor that the threatened Broadstone West Way Loop will continued. with the two late afternoon services, i.e. 17.30 and 18.30 being "pulled"
I am an 'OAP' and must admit I don't use public transport that much, but I have always thought that maybe a small charge could be made for OAP travel. Even if only 20p a trip, it would help with cost. Not sure how that would work for travelling ... [ more ]
I don't think an annual fare would work as a) a lot of OAPs couldn't afford to fork out a lump sum and b) the amount of travel by OAPs varies, some use buses all the time but some, like me, only use it very occasionally. As for wasting time, how ... [ more ]
Does anyone know when Lidl at Hatch Pond opens?

Any recommendations for Pilates classes in Broadstone / Corfe Mullen area? Would prefer daytime but consider early evening. Thankyou
Do you know how much and what times please.
What is people's option on the two weekly change?
Green bins are for garden waste and collected once a month - March to November.
But what stuff do they charge you to dump at the tip Dominic L? I have never been charged or restricted to what I can dump there, its only the traders that get charged isn't it? Sorry if I'm wrong in this but have never had any problem as long as I ... [ more ]
I already subscribe to the Poole emails alerts - and don't see why I have to inform others, I'm sure they are as savvy as me and can do that for themselves. I was only saying I didn't think we were charged at the tip as I never have and I've never ... [ more ]
why is it no one takes housing benefit in a rental my family works and get top up we are looking for a 4 bedroom place with front and dinning as when my family try to get 2 bedrooms for themself soon as you say you get top up they tell us no way ... [ more ]
I had that problem a few years ago so when I was shown round places by the Estate Agents I never said anything about being on Housing Benefit - once we had agreed to having the house they were into renting it to me and all they said was I needed a ... [ more ]
What I do not understand, I get HB help with my rent and its automatically paid into my bank. I rent privately and when my lease renewal was due, I always took a copy of my lease down to HB so they had a copy and could see I was still renting the said ... [ more ]
I have always had my HB paid into my bank by them, and I would never even contemplate doing that, I have been renting where I am for 13.1/2yrs. I was just saying I think their system is stupid as it opens them up for fraud. I religiously took copies ... [ more ]
Alison H - can you not take out buildings insurance not Landlords Insurance then? I'm sure my landlord has just buildings insurance and I have my own contents insurance.
hi does anyone know where they do eyebrow tattoos and eye liner tattoo as a friend of mine is looking
I was looking to get mine done too, but didn't realise just how expensive it is so not bothering now as can't afford that type of money.
Will try that although my problem is now I need glasses when I take them off I can't see what I'm doing lol. Maybe I can manage to do them over my glasses
Sue H. I don't know how old you are, but with me its an age thing. I have plucked my eyebrows for years, but have plucked them a little shorter than they should be, and as all the younger girls are having 'perfect' eyebrows I thought I would grow ... [ more ]
Does anyone know what all the noise at the seaview pub car park was about in the early hours? Very inconsiderate to local residents. ... [ more ]
I really don't understand people on here - only a short time ago when it was said the Seaview was going to be turned into a Co-op, everyone was up in arms - save the Seaview etc etc. Now noise from the car park!!! If you move in near a pub or ... [ more ]
Never mind, presume it will still soon be changed into a Co-op so no-one will have cause to complain then will they.
I am looking to purchase a couple of items. 1) a smallish modern dining table & 4 chairs (not in dark wood.) 2) Settee and matching chair, must be in good condition, clean and not leather. Please PM me. Thank you
Have you tried the British Heart Foundation shops in Upper Parkstone (next to In Excess) or Winton, they have loads of furniture. Also Dorset Reclaim on Nuffield Estate in Poole although not sure what they have or for what price.
The whole area around the carpark is covered with rubbish and puts me off shopping at Iceland , Boots etc. The whole area needs sorting out to promote all the shops there. The companies / shops there will suffer if they don't tidy the area.
Yes it's owned by Iceland or at least the owner's of the lease for property.
Agree the volunteers are doing a great job keeping the area in front of the shop's tidy. But obviously they aren't going to do the car park, they wouldn't have time for that too. Maybe someone could get the contact details of the company responsible ... [ more ]
Whenever I've been in the car park everyone has always been parked in the marked bays, although maybe they could do with being repainted - but it is free to park there, if it were run properly and really clean and tidy they would probably install ... [ more ]
driving round the Heath today i started noticing the height of the grass on the verges, roundabouts and common areas. surely the council should have cut it by now - it looks awful! i am not one for noticing usually but it is particularly high at the ... [ more ]
I and many others have complained to the Council about the uncut grass, and because of this (they said), the Culliford Crescent area is being cut quite regularly (although they leave all the cut grass just laying there, never pick it up). It ... [ more ]
Totally hate this scruffy long grass/weeds look, makes me feel quite depressed. Apparently the official reason for it being left is to help the bees and insects with a natural habitat. The factual reason is because they want to save money by not ... [ more ]
No, I totally agree as to it looking a total mess, I drove my Son mad because every time we drove out through the Heath I was so incensed about the grass not being cut. I hate it!! I really don't know how we ever existed before, when I was young ... [ more ]
Think it's actually quite good on the central reservations on the fast roads because it stops headlight glare from the opposite carriageway, but in residential areas!! It makes Canford Heath look like a run down estate. I personally hate it. If it's ... [ more ]
That was actually said tongue in cheek about the 23rd Sandra lol. I cant remember where it was, but maybe under the Cooper Dean flyover, but they had planted a bed of wild flowers only, no long grass, and it looked really pretty, but in an appropriate ... [ more ]
There are loads of places that can be left to grow wild set back off the road, no need to leave residential area verges and roundabouts long. What about the people crossing the road into these long grassy verges, if there are bees, tics and other ... [ more ]
No Gill W you are totally wrong - concrete would be awful, all we want is neat and tidy verges and roundabouts, sorry if that doesn't fit in with your beliefs - maybe you can leave your garden totally overgrown because I know I don't and wouldn't as ... [ more ]
Yes, that's because they are either too lazy to do it or don't give a flying fig, and are happy to have the excuse to leave their gardens looking unkempt and rubbish strewn. Think its a pity nowadays that people don't have the same values as they used to.
Not walking on the verges, however if you cross the road you have to walk across them to get to the pavement. As you say this subject is getting ridiculous now, we all have our opinion and all I know is that when people in the Culliford Crescent area ... [ more ]
That makes two of you that agree then would be good if you live next to each other wouldnt it and you could have your own little overgrown kingdom. And its not what it is coming to, I am 66 and for as long as I can remember we have always strived for ... [ more ]
Not sure what the poverty and World problems have to do with this thread about uncut grass. We've already said everyone has their own opinions. Can't really get your post in relation to grass verges at all??
The grass verges and roundabouts around Poole were never their 'natural habitat' though until three years ago when the Council decided to stop cutting the grass to save them money - it really doesn't have anything to do with the wildlife, that is just ... [ more ]
Sally K. ?????? Who's thinking of parking on the verges? Dont understand your comment. Amanda W. Maybe the Councillors could take less pay and/or expenses? This thread is getting silly now. Shall we all agree to drop this thread now, it's not getting ... [ more ]
This all started because of the grass not being cut and nothing we say on here is going to change anything. Thanks all for an interesting debate. Off to do more important things now like sleeping, tomorrow's another day. Night all.

More likely nothing to do with brains more to do with if the developer's grease their palms!!
It definitely does, money talks!!
