Music Centre

Maureen E
in Cottingley
Anyone got an old fashioned music centre. One with a turnstile, radio, tape or CD player, in a stacking style system. They usually have speakers too, lost mine in the flood.
Phil R
Yes but I trust nothing, yes I've had a confirmation email but that could be bogus.  I just click remaind me later like every other pop up.

Eyesore on Bingley main street

Phil R in Bingley
I'm sick of looking at a certain eyesore on Bingley main street and I'm not talking about the demolition site. Who can guess what I'm talking about?
Phil R
I was talking about the boarded up door on the empty shop next to Sainsburys. Its been boarded up for over a year since a drunk smashed it one night. Also down the window next to it is splattered with what looks like dried on vomit.
Phil R
Bingley is famous for its pubs and hair salons, I don't think patch was advertising, it's just a cut and paste to show me what's comings in spring.

BBBS site

Terry B
in Bingley
Sainsburys have now sold the old site in the centre of Bingley to Lidl!!! Yet another supermarket. We will need to wait to see their plans for the site.
Phil R
McDonalds?  Yes and maybe a few more betting shops and a Bargain Booze. Just look at all the McDonalds litter, they are the type of people who go to McDonalds.
Phil R
You buy a pizza in Co op or m&s and it's delicious, you buy one in Aldi and it's a highly salted, tastless rubbery tasting cardboard.
Phil R
It was Dave's Bargain centre, Martins was the big newsagent... I miss Dave's bargain centre, I wonder what he's doing now.

Gritting routes

Anne E
in Eldwick
Having lived here in Oakwood since 1967, for the first time yesterday there was no gritting, and our grit box at the entrance to the estate has gone. Bradford Metro website informs me we are not on a gritting route but my request will be considered. ... [ more ]
Phil R
Is it true if a Doctor lives on a street there has to be gritting? I'm sure one must live on Oakwood Drive estate.

Sandra G
in Bingley

Its the same with Keighley, everyone looks really poor, destitute and miserable, its like driving through Saratov Russia.

Costa Coffee

Phil R
Costa is overpriced high calorie nonsense, its not even nice coffee if you ask me. The hot chocolate will rot your teeth straight out of your head before you leave the cafe and the blueberry muffins contain about 9 tea spoons of sugar.  You are ... [ more ]

Keighley Incinerator

Bingley Main Street

Gordon H
in Crossflatts
Another dismal showing of Christmas Lights by the shopkeepers on Bingley Main Street. Only The Queen's Head (Bingley Tavern) has made the effort with a good show.I assume the lights show by Bingley Town Council in the town square has left the ... [ more ]
Phil R
What are you expecting Gordon, Blackpool Illuminations? Looked okay to me tonight. What are you comparing it to? The twinkling winter wonderlands of Shipley and Keighley?

Bus drivers

Ian73
in Bingley
The bus drivers around Cottingley need some lessons in consideration to other road users, I was giving my wife a lesson on her new bicycle, when a small bus overtook us and immediately stopped in front of us. The driver is an idiot. Just to clarify I ... [ more ]

Sty Lane

Tony C
in Peas Acre
Hi. Just wondered if anyone knows when we might expect to hear something re Sty Lane development? Seems to have gone very quiet.
Phil R
New builds are a race to the bottom regarding quality, they use only the cheapest nastiest materials and charge top wack for the 'finished' house. If there was such thing as 3mm plasterboard, they would use it.

Speeding on Bradford Road near Beckfoot

Matthew E
in Bingley
Hi, I'm quite new to Streetlife but thought I would give this a go. I have just started a petition to ask the council to extend the 30mph speed limit on Bradford Road from Oak Avenue along past Beckfoot Lane.  If anyone here would like to sign it ... [ more ]
Phil R
Good idea, I only drive at 30mph on there anyway. Too many idiots on the road to drive any faster anyway. No speed bumps though, there are enough!
Phil R
If Matthew you are in contact with the council can you ask why the traffic lights are so messed up at the bottom of park Rd? If you are turning right to go up park rd the lights give you absolutely no time to get even one car through before they go to ... [ more ]

Auction site

Phil R
Half of these seem to have gone now, leaving their rubbish all over of course. Even if they just left it in a neat pile it wouldn't be as bad.
Phil R
The owner of the site needs to have crane lift concrete barriers blocking the entrances, these keep vehicles out.

Cars stolen Bingley

Helen C
in Eldwick
We had 2 cars stolen from our drive in Lady Lane area last night. They broke into house to steal keys. Make sure your windows are locked at night and keys are well hidden.

Beware - thieves active - Gilstead

Helen O
in Beck Foot
Garden shed and work van broken into last night. The locks were forced on both. Lots of my husband's work tools stolen and an expensive site radio. Be aware and be careful.

Garden Shears need sharpening.

Phil R
If you go to Tool Central in Bingley they sharpen circular saw blades (well send them away to get done) it might be worth asking.

Blue Advertising van near Station

Phil R in Bingley
Could the owner of this obstruction please move it one space to the left (looking at Foundry bar) It forces me to go down that pothole everytime. Its been there ages, enough is enough, its not even advertising anything other than itself!

Bingley Grammer school litter

Phil R in Bingley
Im thinking about getting a snowplough attachment on the front of my car to get through the 12ft of rubbish all the kids drop strewn over the road and pavement. Why use the bins when you can just throw it on the floor?
Phil R
There seems to be a lot of rubbish thrown out of cars at the bottom of the twines, pizza boxes, polystyrene cartons etc.
Phil R
Has anyone seen the blue plastic crates that seem to litter the Twines right up to Harden? they can be seen early in a morning and by night time a lot of them have been fragmented by cars and the remainder gets picked up by the council or just gets ... [ more ]

Parking Opposite Eldwick Post Office

Tony C
in Peas Acre
Does anyone else think allowing parking on both sides of the road near Eldwick Post Office is stupid? Somebody is going to have an accident there before long.
Phil R
That's the Yorkshire Water vehicle that was rear ended and shoved into the pavement the other week. I drove past and saw a transit van had ploughed into it.
