Save Poole Park Railway

What a loss this would be.  Perfect position, safe, friendly affordable and a treat for children here and visiting grandchildren. What a magnet for our great Poole Park. This cannot happen.

What purpose a fence.  Contain the Canadian Geese? Has a car collided with a train? Has a person been hit by a train? A very slow train with full vision of the driver, people of all ages walking on the crass and across the line in dozens of places ... [ more ]

I already wrote about similar points.  No casualties, not even a Canadian Goose.  The owner had a new stream engine specially built by a Devon builder only 2/3 years ago  and erected a little fence where the Engine stood in station to warn and protect ... [ more ]

Diane.  If you are referring to the Quay to Hamworthy line, its been out of service over 12 years  and passengers about 100 years ago!
Richard L
Yes, I soon twigged on as I looked at a map.  A Land Train..    Have seen it sheltered at the Dock alongside the OOS line.   Point Cleared. Thanks.

There are close to 100 lamps there. Never used.  Imagine the electricuity cost! This was a disasterous installation. Just normal lighting in the bus queue area would be great. The floor needs tiling in a light colour and very unfortunate to have ... [ more ]

I noticed the Burgerking closed down over a month ago and today noticed that McDonalds has a notice stating they are closing  permanently on Sunday 8th Jan 2017.  This is a surprise as this  always seemed to be very busy.

Wednesday evening I spent 30 mins waiting for a bus at 9pm. Overheard a couple who entered the busstation through the alley beside the closed toilets. They noted the filthy floor and wondered why nothing was clean. Perhaps its time to get the clean-up ... [ more ]

To Mark C.   Thanks for your note. Am massively surprised.  Here you have the public comment on the one place, we can.  Councillors, I expect you know which ones, have responded and what an opportunity to hear what the consumers discuss/complain ... [ more ]

I have a 'middle aged' Toshiba laptop and want to do what I think is called a 'clean instalation' with a new Windows 7 disc, to remove everything and start from factory settings. Where is the best place to get a disc (new) with codes etc please?
Richard L
There are cleanup programmes like System Mechanic..  Really brilliant and all restore to new. You have to learn what to do, Complete reinstallations are seldom necessary and you have so much and so many progs to lose. Plenty on the Inet!

Dale Valley road

Enieledam in Canford Heath
Anyone have an idea why there are Police bollards on both sides of the Dale Valley road near the corner of Kenyon Road? We are hoping a new crossing maybe going in?
Richard L
On Dale Valley Road, the priority traffic signs for the 2 narrow passing places are removed.  Why? This is a dangerous situation.

KFC.

I was down at BnQ, and went over to PC world, and what I saw disgusted me. All I could see was the garbage from KFC. Why won't the Council, make these people clean up the rubbish
Richard L
The Poole Bus Station has not been helped with the Subway almost  on the bus queues. People littering and eating even on the buses. Dont the bylaws prohibit this?

Not really Jean G.  Absolutely nothing has been solved or restored. And Wild Poet, the royal family is the reason visitors pour into the country sightseeing, spending millions,  and wishing they too had attractions like that!

Fighter Pilot carpark

Tony B
in Canford Heath
The whole area around the carpark is covered with rubbish and puts me off shopping at Iceland , Boots etc. The whole area needs sorting out to promote all the shops there. The companies / shops there will suffer if they don't  tidy the area.
Richard L
Possibly to not offend the yearly batches of German students who are housed with Heath families and congregate around the shops and pubs! I recall that one of the murals facing the road, was very graphic in illustrating the aerial "dogfights".
Richard L
Not to forget "Sailor" Malan and Douglas Bader. The car park urgently need signposting the IN  and OUT entrances and the arrows on the road surface showing the one-way system for the parking places. This will help keep it in order.

Suspicious person spotted in the Stanley Green Road area!

Watch out for a young guy in a dark grey or black VW Golf, was seen hanging around in his car wearing blue coloured medical gloves in the Stanley Green Road area.
Richard L
My mobile mechanic uses such gloves and they are commonly used.  What on earth did this person suspect? Maybe they should get out more often!
