Streetlife was founded over 25 years ago and is based in Leiden, the Netherlands. We design and supply contemporary, sustainable products for public spaces. Streetlife operates internationally in Western Europe, the US, and Australia. Our team consists of 70 colleagues with headquarters in Leiden and studios in Philadelphia and Sydney.
 

The role

To strengthen our EU R&D team—made up of around 15 talented designers and project managers—we’re looking for a Design Engineer with solid SolidWorks expertise. In this role, you’ll translate client ideas into precise technical drawings for our suppliers and take ownership of projects from concept to completion. Your versatility, eye for detail, digital drawing skills, and collaborative mindset will be essential to your success.

Following a comprehensive onboarding and training period, you’ll develop into an independent team member and project lead, actively contributing to innovative product developments and the technical realization of our Streetlife Collection.
 

Responsibilities
  • Further develop and detail products in the Streetlife Collection
  • Design and develop client-specific solutions
  • Project management: take ownership of your own product group
  • Collaborate with fellow designers on various projects
  • Work closely with production partners
  • Create and optimize (parametric) CAD models in SolidWorks
Your Profile
  • Education: TU-IO or IPO (Industrial Design Engineering or equivalent)
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • Efficient, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
  • Passionate about design, technology, and production
  • In possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Residency in Netherlands
